Main

Skein

The Skein series is the standard main series for Duskwing. Skeins are bladed whips that allow players both to strike from a ground position and to perform spinning attacks, often referred to as buzzsaw attacks due to visual similarities to a spinning sawblade. While spinning with any skein (including exotics similar to standard skeins), players may go through enemies and are invulnerable to most projectiles; enemies touching the Duskwing take 33% of ground-attack damage every 100 milliseconds. While on the ground, the Main key can be held to make the Duskwing auto-attack, though aim and facing cannot be changed during each ground attack.

The non-starter standard Skeins have good single-hit damage, a ground-attack refire rate of 250 milliseconds, and a long range compared to exotic skeins. Be aware that leech-on-hit modifiers only take effect on ground attacks with skeins, never air attacks; also, HP Leech only takes effect once per attack regardless of whether the weapon has Extra Hit.

The Skein series includes the following mains: Skein, Nacre Skein, Cobalt Skein, Sapphire Skein, Berylblade Skein and Vitreous Skein. The first is the starter main, while the rest drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Polychrome Skein

The Polychrome Skein series includes two exotic mains for Duskwing. Polychrome Skeins are similar to standard skeins, but hit with three attacks, each hit dealing less damage than one from a standard skein, whether attacking on the ground or spinning. When all hits connect, these mains have a higher damage per time than that of most other Duskwing mains against many enemies; however, ground attacks have a 400-millisecond refire rate, and the ground range and buzzsaw radius are smaller than those of standard skeins. Be aware that leech on hit only applies once per 3-burst on ground attacks.

The Polychrome Skein series includes the following mains: Polychrome Skein and Motley. Polychrome Skein drops from Fungus Cave, whereas Motley drops from Star Cathedral.

Bow

The Bow series, consisting of 2 exotic mains, is available to both Wildfire and Duskwing. Bows fire a single high damage shot in a straight line. They have the longest range for both Wildfire and Duskwing mains, but have a refire time of 750 milliseconds between shots, making them bad crowd-clearing weapons without Penetrating modifier.

This series includes the following exotic mains: Needlebow and Stonebow. These are dropped from (Elite) Fungus Cave boss and (Elite) Temple of the Lost boss, respectively.

Balefire Skein

Weapons in the Balefire Skein exotic main series behave very similarly to standard Skeins. However, they deal low direct damage in all attacks - most of their damage comes from the flames appearing on enemies with each attack. Each flame deals 40% of ground-attack damage every half-second for 4 seconds, and up to 4 flames can be applied to each enemy during each spin attack. Balefire Skeins work best against bosses or other large enemies on which many flames can be stacked for excellent damage per time.

Two Duskwing mains are included in the Balefire Skein series. Skyfire Skein drops from regular and elite Frozen Blight while Balefire Skein drops from regular and elite Underground Base.

Baetyl

Baetyl is an unusual exotic Duskwing main. While this weapon is equipped, the Duskwing throws tethered penetrating projectiles that travel in the direction of use, then come back after a short time, greatly damaging enemies along their path. After the initial throwing animation, the Duskwing is free to move and use other weapons while projectiles are in transit; she can also throw another after the 200-millisecond refire time has passed. However, Baetyl does not provide any invincibility frames during its attacks, forcing Duskwings to take advantage of its range in order to avoid damage.

Baetyl drops from the (Elite) Graveyard boss.

Second

Aesc

The Aesc series is the standard second series for Duskwing. Aescs act as penetrating boomerangs that deal damage to all enemies caught in its trajectory, and they can be caught by the user to conserve ammo. These can serve as a good way to soften up groups of enemies before a warp; however, since they are unable to receive critical damage modifiers, Aescs should not be used in isolation against tough armored enemies.

The Aesc series includes the following seconds: Aesc, Biting Aesc, Falcate Aesc, Keen Aesc, Violet Aesc and Radiant Aesc. The first is the starter second, while the rest are available from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Haunting Aesc

The Haunting Aesc series includes two exotic seconds for Duskwing. Haunting Aescs are thrown like regular Aescs and can be retrieved, but they do not penetrate through enemies. Rather, they stick to the first enemy encountered and deal damage every 100 milliseconds for the remainder of the projectile's lifetime. Their damage against single targets is better than that of standard Aescs, but when used on weak enemies they may end up draining one's ammo pool very quickly due to each Haunting Aesc only killing one enemy.

Haunting Aesc comes in the following varieties: Haunting Aesc and Gnawing Aesc. These drop from the bosses of (Elite) Fire Forest and (Elite) Strands respectively.

Kulbeda

The Kulbeda series includes two exotic seconds for Duskwing. Kulbedas act as penetrating thrown projectiles like Aescs, but instead of following the flight pattern of an aesc, they move at a constant speed and bounce off of walls for a set duration (this duration is reset each time a bounce is consumed), until they hit a surface with no bounces remaining, or until they are retrieved, whichever comes first. Their damage against all targets is unparalleled in areas with lots of walls, but in open areas it is often impossible to retrieve Kulbedas before they time out.

The Kulbeda series includes the following seconds: Kulbeda and Kunai. They drop from (Elite) Vanquished and Star Cathedral, respectively.

Special

Warp

The Warp series is the standard special series for Duskwing. All Duskwing specials allow players to travel at high speed while granting invulnerability to the Duskwing and delivering damage to any enemies passed through.

Additionally, they enable the use of the dive kick. When a dive kick is performed, the Duskwing dives downward feet-first, damaging the first enemy she hits from above. A successful hit nullifies any contact damage which would otherwise occur, launches the Duskwing upward, and recharges all air warps, allowing the Duskwing to dive-kick again or warp away. Dive kicks are interrupted if the Duskwing takes contact damage from the sides or top or collides with a projectile, explosion, or flame.

Standard Warps are characterized by high single-hit damage, making them the most useful ones for dive-kicking.

The Warp series includes the following specials: Warp, Acrotic Warp, Beloid Warp, Daedal Warp, Aeon Warp and Tacent Warp. The first is the starter special, while the rest drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Residual Warp

The Residual Warp series includes two exotic specials for the Duskwing. Residual Warps act similarly to standard Warps, but leave behind a trail that does damage to any enemies touching it. Each particle in the trail deals 50-67% of warp damage, making Residual Warps excellent against large enemies.

The Residual Warp series includes the following specials: Residual Warp and Abiding Warp. These are dropped from the bosses of (Elite) Vanquished and (Elite) Temple of the Lost, respectively.

Mirrored Warp

The Mirrored Warp series includes two exotic special for Duskwing. Mirrored Warps are different from standard Warps in that they send out an additional warp in the opposite direction, hitting enemies without the player actually warping through them. They do less damage on a single hit than standard Warps, but skilled players can get both copies of the warp to hit the same enemy, giving Mirrored Warps very good burst damage to single targets.

The Mirrored Warp series includes the following specials: Mirrored Warp and Mimic. Mirrored Warp drops from the (Elite) Underground Base boss, whereas Mimic drops from the Star Cathedral boss.

Mobility

Trackers

The Trackers series is the standard mobility series for the Duskwing. Trackers provide (tier * 3) movement speed and (tier * 0.5)% crit chance by default, making them good fits for the critical-focused Duskwing.

The Trackers series includes the following mobility items: Trackers, Durable Trackers, Augmented Trackers, Reinforced Trackers and Resilient Trackers. These drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Empyreals

The Empyreals series, available to Wildfire and Duskwing, consists of mobility items that add air jumps, greatly improving vertical mobility, though at the cost of armor (for Wildfire) and critical chance (for Duskwing). This is partially alleviated by the defensively-oriented modifier pool.

The two exotic mobility items in the Empyreals series are Empyreals and Aeonic Empyreals. They drop from (Elite) Vanquished boss and Star Cathedral boss, respectively.

Body

Hyrst

The Hyrst series is the standard body item series for Duskwing. Hyrsts provide both (tier * 2) armor and (2 + tier) speed by default, and modifiers focus on improving critical damage output, very helpful bonuses for the critical-focused Duskwing.

Hyrsts are one of two kinds of Body items which can generate as Prototype variants (the only other kind of Body items which can generate as Prototype variants is the Woven series).

The Hyrst series includes the following body items: Hyrst, Durable Hyrst, Augmented Hyrst, Reinforced Hyrst and Resilient Hyrst. These drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.
