Main

Sledge

The Sledge series is the standard main series for Ironclad. Sledges are slow hammers that do significant damage to all enemies in the path of their swings. Their long reach allows the Ironclad to hit enemies through sufficiently thin barriers and walls, and the swing arcs that Ironclad uses with all mains give full coverage around the Ironclad, giving it the rare ability to hit enemies directly above or below it.

Most attacks with Ironclad mains have a 625-millisecond refire rate. However, side-swipes (Down+Main) have a 500-millisecond refire rate. +20% Speed modifier reduces these values to 521 milliseconds and 417 milliseconds, respectively.

The Sledge series includes the following mains: Sledge, Cruel Sledge, Vengeful Sledge, Sinful Sledge, Baleful Sledge and Corrupt Sledge. The first is the starter main, while the rest drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Lancet

The Lancet series includes all throwing mains for the Ironclad. All Lancets have terrible reach and less damage than Sledges (though they usually hit twice in melee range, once from the swing and once from the projectile) in exchange for a 400-millisecond (333-millisecond with +20% Speed modifier) refire time on all attacks and the ability to hit enemies at range. All Lancet projectiles have innate Penetrating attribute and deal 50% of weapon damage on contact; in addition, they disappear after 2 seconds of flight time.

The Lancet series includes two exotic mains: the Lancet and the Baculus. The Lancet proper disappears when it hits a surface. The Baculus does not disappear upon impacting a surface; instead, once it lands on a horizontal surface, it begins to emit shocking blasts every 1000 milliseconds during its 5-second lifetime (separate from the in-flight lifetime). These blasts, like the projectile itself, deal 50% of weapon damage.

The Lancet drops from the boss of (Elite) Fire Forest and the Baculus from the boss of (Elite) Strands.

Adjudicator

The Adjudicator series includes two exotic mains. Adjudicators have the reach and attack speed of a Sledge, but also produce a number of plinks that each do 25% of weapon damage; these can be used to attack from a distance. In exchange, their direct damage is less than that of standard Sledges. The plinks cannot hit enemies very far above the Ironclad, and side-swipes do not trigger the release of plinks.

The Adjudicator series includes the Adjudicator and the Quaestor. They drop from the boss of (Elite) Fungus Cave and the boss of Star Cathedral, respectively.

Preceptor

The Preceptor is an exotic main for the Ironclad. It has the reach and attack rate of a Sledge, but low direct damage. However, on ground smashes it produces a large forward-traveling wave of damage, allowing it to inflict very high damage against large enemies and take down groups of weak enemies. Each wavelet in the wave deals 33% of weapon damage to each target hit.

Preceptor drops from the boss of (Elite) Graveyard.

Second

Kyeser

The Kyeser series is the standard second series for Ironclad. Kyesers are missiles that do damage by both colliding with enemies and detonating on impact. All Ironclad seconds can be used while the player is performing almost all other actions, including movement, crouching, and the use of Ironclad mains and specials. Also, all Ironclad seconds will fly for a maximum of 2 seconds before exploding.

The Kyeser series includes the following seconds: Kyeser, Irascent Kyeser, Caustic Kyeser, Insidious Kyeser, Nefarious Kyeser and Diabolical Kyeser. The first is the starter second, while the rest drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Hotfoot

The Hotfoot series includes two exotic seconds for the Ironclad. Hotfoot seconds produce a large number of flames that stick to surfaces and enemies and deal damage every 500 milliseconds during their 2-second lifetime. The missiles have low collision damage, so one must rely on the flames to do the majority of the damage. These seconds are most useful when they detonate above their intended targets, as this is the way to get the most flames to hit enemies.

The Hotfoot series includes the following seconds: Hotfoot and Burner. They are dropped by the bosses of (Elite) Vanquished and (Elite) Temple of the Lost, respectively.

Swarmer

The Swarmer series includes all Ironclad seconds that fire in groups. Swarmers consume 1 ammo to fire a cluster of small missiles that have wildly divergent paths and individually do less damage than a Kyeser. Burst damage is very good against large targets, though these seconds are also useful in clearing out groups of small enemies.

The Swarmer series includes three exotic seconds: the Triad, the Swarmer and the Locust. Triad drops in regular and elite Frozen Blight, Swarmer drops in regular and elite Underground Base, and Locust drops in Star Cathedral.

Special

Mantlet

The Mantlet series is the only special series for the Ironclad. Mantlets absorb non-piercing projectiles while the Ironclad is crouching. The Ironclad's facing can be changed while crouching, though doing so causes a small delay during which the Mantlet will not absorb projectiles.

Mantlets also allow the Ironclad to perform a charge which accelerates it to great speed. Jumping is allowed during this maneuver, but only maximum-height jumps will be performed. While in a charge, the Mantlet absorbs non-piercing projectiles on contact, and the Ironclad can run into a single enemy without being damaged - when this happens, the enemy is damaged and the player is knocked back, ending the charge. This knockback can be cancelled by pressing the Jump or Main keys while in midair. Charges can also end when the player releases the direction key used to initiate it or when the player takes damage (knockback caused by taking damage cannot be cancelled).

Ironclads cannot charge without a Mantlet equipped, but they can still deploy their shield while crouching, implying that the crouch shield is for the most part unaffected by equipment.

Mantlets passively add (tier * 4) armor to the Ironclad and can be generated with useful modifiers. In particular, a Mantlet with +50% Knockback Resist, when paired with a Main with +50% Knockback Resist (or, as of version 1.5, a Firites), gives the Ironclad complete immunity to knockback caused by being damaged.

The Mantlet series includes the following specials: Mantlet, Relentless Mantlet, Fortified Mantlet, Banded Mantlet, Annealed Mantlet and Eternal Mantlet. The first is the starter special, while the rest are available from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels respectively.

Mobility

Sabatons

The Sabatons series is the standard mobility item series available to Ironclads. Sabatons offer (tier * 4) armor by default and gain mobility and damage bonuses via modifiers.

The Sabatons series includes the following mobility items: Sabatons, Durable Sabatons, Augmented Sabatons, Reinforced Sabatons and Resilient Sabatons. They drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.

Boosters

The Boosters series includes exotic mobility items that serve as an Empyreals analog for Ironclads and Fabricators. Pressing the Jump key in mid-air with these items equipped launches the player upward at great speeds for a short duration.

The Boosters series includes the following mobility items: Boosters and Overloaded Boosters. They drop from the bosses of (Elite) Underground Base and Star Cathedral, respectively.

Body

Plating

The Plating series is the standard body item series for the Ironclad. Plating adds (tier * 8) armor but by default also gives a penalty of 4 to movement speed. Modifiers neutralize the movement speed penalty and give a significant bonus to damage.

The Plating series includes the following body items: Plating, Durable Plating, Augmented Plating, Reinforced Plating and Resilient Plating. They drop from all tier one, tier two, tier three, tier four and tier five levels, respectively.
