Zones

Are you looking for the other Zones page? That's over this way.

Zones are the environments within StarBreak that players can explore. All zones can be reached by interacting with specific doorways. There are currently 8 zones accessible by players, each with their own hazards, enemies, bosses, and scenery. 7 of these have elite variants (Star Cathedral is difficult enough to go without one) which are more difficult but drop better loot. In addition to these, there are two peaceful zones, the Home and Eschaton Station.

The requirements to open portals to various locations differ depending on the location in question. Once a portal is open, anyone can use it, even if they have no keys of their own, until the portal closes.

Home

Each player has a home that only they can enter. In the home, there is a storage area and the tubes with the shells in them. The storage can hold up to six items.

Home can be accessed by pressing the Home key (Default H) and waiting 10 seconds without moving or taking damage (in Spark form, homing only takes 2 seconds in battle zones). Players can also use the doorway to the left of the fountain in Eschaton.

Eschaton Station

Eschaton is a peaceful zone where all players on a server can see each other. Eschaton contains a shop, training dummy, and doorways to all the other zones, including Home.

Eschaton can be accessed by using the doorway in your home. Additionally, doorways to Eschaton can be found at the beginning and end of each dungeon.

Fire Forest

Fire Forest is the easiest dungeon. No keys are required to open a portal to this location.

Successfully defeating the boss grants players a number of Fungus Cave and Vanquished keys.

Graveyard

The Graveyard can be accessed by any one of its numerous doorways in Eschaton.

Successfully defeating the boss grants players a number of Unknown and Mysterious keys, which are used to open a portal to Star Cathedral.

Temple of the Lost

The Temple of the Lost is one of the hardest zones. To open a portal to Temple of the Lost, one Temple of the Lost key is required.

The Temple of the Lost can be accessed by any one of its numerous doorways in Eschaton.

Successfully defeating the boss grants players a number of Unknown and Mysterious keys, which are used to open a portal to Star Cathedral.

Star Cathedral

Star Cathedral is one of only three zones in the game that are considered Extreme difficulty (Elite Temple of the Lost and Elite Graveyard are the other two).

Star Cathedral is the only timed zone. Initially, 24 minutes are given to disable 4 generators located at the corners of the zone, but destroying the first three generators adds 2 more minutes each to the remaining time and destroying the last generator stops the timer entirely, starting the transition to the zone boss fight. If time runs out, the screen fades to white and all player characters are kicked out of the zone without killing living shells.

Star Cathedral cannot be accessed at will. Rather, a portal to Star Cathedral only opens when sufficient quantities of zone keys have been deposited into the crystals on the monolith to the left of the Eschaton shop. Specifically, opening a portal to Star Cathedral requires 1400 each of Vanquished and Fungus Cave keys; 1200 each of Strands and Underground Base keys; 1000 each of Graveyard and Temple of the Lost keys; and 800 each of Unknown and Mysterious keys.
